Michael Gove writes to MPs about changes to planning system

Michael Gove has written to Conservative MPs setting out further changes to the planning system, alongside the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill. He said these changes would then go into the National Planning Policy Framework prospectus.

The letter covers ways of calculating how many homes are needed in an area and strategies for implementing housing plans.

He also wrote he wished to end the obligation for local authorities to maintain a rolling 5-year land supply.
